Is Meditation the Key to Happiness?
Is Meditation the key to happiness?

Meditation has been practiced for over 5000 years so why is it that some people won’t admit they meditate? Although there has been a huge shift in the acceptance of this practice there is still a perception that meditation is … well…. Weird?
My favorite is when someone called me a New Age Yoga groupie. The truth is many people meditate and don’t discuss it at a dinner party. So we are taking meditation main stream.
We all want the same things out of life. We all want to be happy and loved. It really is that simple and everyone has their own idea of what makes the happy. Is it money, a career, health, love, fulfilling relationships, a better home, a beautiful new car, or to start your own business. In any case it all starts within you. Your reality is what you dream and think about.
SO let’s dispel the myth that meditation is “weird” or “religious”. There are hundreds of brilliant people who meditated besides the Dalai Lama:
· Albert Einstein (Scientist),
· Thomas Edison (Scientist)
· Mick Jagger (Singer),
· Bruce Lee (Martial Artist),
· Jennifer Lopez (Singer, Actress),
· Clint Eastwood (Actor, Director, Politician),
· Harrison Ford (Actor),
· Jerry Seinfeld (Comedian),
· Phil Jackson (NBA Coach),
· Leonard Cohen (Singer, Songwriter, Poet),
· Orlando Bloom (Actor),
· William Ford Jr. (Ford Motor Company),
· Sting (Singer, Musician),
· Allen Ginsberg (Poet, Author)
· Paul McCartney (Singers/Musicians),
· K.D. Lang (Singer),
· Mark Wahlberg (Actor/Singer)
· Sheryl Crow (Singer, Songwriter),
· Kate Bosworth (Actress)
· Richard Gere (Actor),
· Tiger Woods (Golf Pro),
· Julia Roberts (Actress),
· Gwyneth Paltrow (Actress),
· Tina Turner (Singer),
· Oliver Stone (Movie Producer),
· Elle MacPherson (Supermodel)
Thomas Edison, inventor of the light bulb, had a napping habit which he was often teased about. He kept a rocking chair in his office and would use it for these legendary naps. While napping he would hold a rock in one hand and when he would fall asleep he would drop the rock bringing him back to consciousness. Edison would often say that when he had a problem this is where he went for the solution. This form of meditation allowed him to tap into with his intuition and it worked.
Understanding the laws of the Universe and that we are the highest form creation within this universe is empowering. Once we are ready to accept that we have the ability to create our lives it starts to shift. Understand this… life does not happen to you.
Syl Carson founder of Bodhi Yoga (www.gobodhiyoga.com) in Utah is one of my teachers who developed a program called QuanT.M. This protocol has changed the lives of many people by healing through the principle of therapeutic meditation. I will talk more about this in the next few weeks. However, I want to leave you with a quote from her…. “Oxygen is to our body what truth is to our essential self.”
Are you ready for the truth and to change your life?
