What to expect in my class?
As a teacher, my goal is to create a warm, inviting and unpretentious environment where students feel safe and energized to explore breath and movement in ways that feel best for their bodies. I emphasize the importance of variations, making sure students understand there is no "right" or "perfect" pose—only what feels best in their own bodies. Expect deep, grounding slow burn power yoga practice that builds strength and encourages a mindful presence in the flow and expression of the physical postures in ways that feel good to you! I am serous about yoga but I don't take myself too seriously, so expect playfulness and a great playlist as we all move and breath in community!
Outside of teaching yoga, what do I love to do?
Outside of yoga, I am a single parent to two wonderful kids (ages 15 and 11) and work full-time in healthcare and science communications. Movement is medicine to me, so you will find me walking, hiking, or biking as much I can. I love all things nature and libraries/bookstores. (Book club, anyone?) I also have way too many fur babies - two dogs, two cats - and love to attend local live music shows and spend time with friends who feel like family.
How long have I been practicing and what specialities?
I have been practicing yoga for 20+ years. I was drawn into it with the vinyasa flow and strength it gave me, but stayed for the deep benefits of grounding and mind-body connection. The day doesn't feel complete with a little intentional movement and breath practice!
